But.......   why?

Screws Loose started as a way to escape the day. A means to pour time, frustrations, ideas, and a little bit of insanity into something that feels more like freedom.

Ironically, freedom has turned out to be a hell of a lot of work.

This brand was never really about clothes. Clothing is just the medium. The canvas. A way to put the artwork on something you can wear into the world.

The real point is the art.

Every design starts with something deeper than a graphic slapped on a shirt. There’s a thought behind it. A story. A contradiction. A darker joke hiding underneath something that might look cool at first glance.

The art is meant to make you look twice (and then hopefully think twice).

And maybe that's where the whole idea of Screws Loose really comes from.

There’s something strange about the way we're expected to spend our lives. We trade our time for money, then trade that money for the things we need to keep living, so we can wake up and trade more of our time for more money.

Clock in. Clock out. Repeat. Die.

We're told that's just how life works. That we're supposed to sit at a desk, punch a clock, make someone else rich, and save whatever pieces of ourselves are left for the few hours we're allowed to call our own.

That's not the whole point of being alive.

Screws Loose is an attempt to do something with the time we actually have. To build something instead of simply maintaining a routine. To create because we want to create. To make art out of the things that piss us off, make us laugh, scare us, confuse us, or make us think.

Because time is the one thing none of us get back.
